Milton Keynes RPG Club are holding another of their games days on 19 March 2011. Doors open at 9.00am, first games start at 10.00am. We’ll finish at 11.00pm.
This one-day event will be held in the Stable Function Room behind the pub. This small venue will comfortably hold 25-30 people, so early Registration is recommended. The Club regrets that attendees under 16 years of age will not be admitted. Prices for this event will be £2.00 per session.

After a long period of internet silence, Steampower Publishing has returned with a new website. It’s now at www.steampowerpublishing.com, where Andrew Kenrick will be posting regular updates, design notes and art previews.
He’s already started the blog rolling in earnest with a sneak peek at some of the interior art for Dead of Night second edition, and today he’s unveiled the new cover!
Three new books are winging their way to your local games store this week, all hot from the presses from Mongoose. For Traveller fans, they expand space yet further with Reft Sector and, for RuneQuest, there is the Monster Coliseum and Glorantha.
Rich Stokes has, in his own words, foolishly arranged a one day RPG convention in a pub in Southampton on Sat 10th of July. The venue is a pub called The Shooting Star (formerly Kolebka). More details of the venue can be found on the pub’s website (here)
It’s in Bevois Valley, about 12 minutes walk from St Deny’s station or 20 minutes from Southampton Central.
Entry is free! Doors open at 10am, there apparently will be free bacon sandwiches. First game at 11am til 3pm, second slot at 4pm til 8pm and the pub is open until something like 2am for people who want to stick around.
It’s a great and very friendly venue and a great opportunity for some gaming! The south coast is a bit devoid of gaming events during the summer, so hopefully this’ll do something to fill that void.
So come along, bring some games and enjoy some beers!*

On Saturday May 1st, Mongoose is throwing open its doors for fans of Traveller. Taking place at our offices in Swindon, it is completely free to attend, and everyone is welcome, whether you have played Traveller before or not!
Doors open at 9:00, and games begin at 9:30am, finishing at 6pm – and we have some special games lined up for you!

I have a ton of updates that have all come around at the same time, so I thought I would put them all into one package rather than lots of little announcements.
Empire!
For sometime now I have been wrestling with the rather annoying nomenclature that has grown around my games. Its simply not elegant constantly refering to them as ‘Duty & Honour and Beat to Quarters’ or even ‘D&H/BtQ’. After some deliberation, I have decided that the system really needs an identity of its own. So, from now on, I’ll be refering to the system as ‘Empire!‘ (thanks to IndyPete for the suggestion).
The latest release from Postmortem Studios is the last of the 100 series (for the forseeable future). 100 Conspiritors acts as a companion book for the previously released 100 Conspiricies revealing the hidden faces behind the various nefarious plots of the previous book. As with all the 100 series it is chock full of useful ideas for stuck GMs. It can be bought from Drive Thru RPG for £4.95.
