Okay- here's one of mine...for Sunday morning, we have

System Wordplay: Drowned Lands
Title A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall

The summer of 2013 was blisteringly hot and humid, both in Britain and the rest of the world.
Perhaps nothing too unusual.
Then it started to rain.
Still nothing unusual.
It started to rain everywhere in the world, even in deserts.
And it didn't stop.
EVER.

It's now 2113, and humanity has been reduced to small struggling communities. The heroes are based in one of these communities- Victoria, on the south coast of what was once England. The town is cut-off by the War's Ash navy, which is in the process of invading the allied settlement of Highfield. Perhaps the mysterious beings some call the Angels have something to do with it. Time to find out what's really going on in War's Ash.

Maximum Number of Players 6
Slot 4

Coming Soon: Here Be Dragons (with Simon Bray)(an OpenQuest fantasy setting mixing the whimsical and the dark), Tomb of the Necromancers (a Crypts and Things scenario).

In the Pipeline: Reign: Ninth Legion (a fantasy setting involving the descendants of the lost Ninth Legion of the Roman Empire)

I would be interested in a Sinbad themed Fate game and I promise not to be too critical.

I know I haven't sent you game details yet Elaine, hopeful on finalising them this week. Would there be much interest in a Duty and Honour powered Three Muskateers game?

OK, I have decided to go for broke and look at providing two games. Details have been e-mailed to you Elaine.

Duty and Honour
Game 1: Saturday AM

In the name of the Queen.

Madame de Winter, arch spy and Cardinal Richleu's most dangerous agent has been dispatched to England to murder the Duke of Buckingham, the Queens lover. You are the Queen's loyal musketeers and must race to London to save the Duke and recover her love letters before they fall into the hands of the Cardinal. You must not fail or all of France will fall into chaos!

4 players

NB: Be some of the first people to try out the D&H rules for playing the French!

Some version of Fate
Game 2: Sunday AM

The Game of Thrones

Robert Barratheon, first of his name, lies dying in his chamber, gored by a boar. As night falls the Great Houses begin to manouver against each other vying to see who will ascend the Iron Throne. This night will decide the fate of the Seven Kingdoms. Alliances will be foreged (and broken), blood will be spilled and when the sun rises there will be a new King or civil war will tear the country apart.

5 players

NB: Obviously the game will not necessarily follow the events of the books or the TV series as the outcome will be entirely dependant on the players actions.

Here's an interesting one for the organisers. I'm not down as an attendee so I won't be coming as one. Conceivably someone might drop out in the meantime, but how about this: you need more games, right? How about if someone turns up just to run games, not to partake of the con in general? It could be either day or both days. Wodger fink?

Personally it just looks like you're trying to wrangle free entry ;) (no harm in asking of course, but probably better done through email or PM than publically)

Agreed. Lots of people are running one or two games and paying to be there - there's not normally a shortage of Furnace GMs as it gets closer to the event.

No I'm not; I'd happily pay for attendance on top of. And the reason I'm asking publicly is so that I'm not being seen to be doing so secretly, which I feel would be worse were it to come out at a later date. But yeah OK, will await drop-outage.

Short answer is no. Longer answer:

1) As Gaz and Dave have said, there are people coming who run more games than they play, and they still buy tickets.
2) I don't think there is a way to run games only and NOT partake of the con. What do you do if no-one signs up to your game? Go sit in the car park until the next game slot? ;)
3) There are only 5 empty game slots now, 4 of them on Sunday afternoon, which is notoriously quieter anyway. Not worried in that respect.

If you want to come (and run games!) you're very welcome, but only if tickets become available closer to the date and you buy one.

Ah yes, hadn't thought of that.

So, Saturday evening.... can the Furnace hive-mind help me out with which game to run?

My shortlist is:

1) Marvel Heroic - probably some sort of X-Men thing, minimal knowledge of the marvel universe required.

2) In A Wicked Age... - get your sandals on in both a hippy indie and sword and sorcery sense

3) some more Mouse Guard - possibly the Wild West mouse hack on the forums

or

4) Realm Guard - Mouse Guard hack, playing Dunedain rangers in Middle Earth.

Any ideas? In terms of my own confidence, they all excite me equally as a GM...

Either Mouse Guard hack works for me. Maybe a slight preference for Middle Earth, but mainly because it feels to me like a better rules fit.

I'm with Mitchenator - Mouseguard Hack for the win. Although I'll be disappointed with the lack of War Geese.

I think Realm Guard or Marvel Heroic. Realm Guard is a good setting and the system works well. I'd love to play marvel as my experience of running it was a little frustrating. Either of those is great for me.

I don't think you were too critical. If anything it made me think about player expectation when they read "Qin The Warring States" as oppose to a generic Chinese fantasy style game. This then lead to a greater reflection of how a title for a game really does set up player expectation.
