Re: Fiasco Playset Design Day at the February Meetup
Do we have any idea of numbers for this yet?
A couple of people were asking if there would be any none Fiasco related games running at this Meet Up and if we had enough tables, GM's, Facilitators, purple fluffy elephants?

I've mentally put the date aside as a 'to do' and will be looking at the Fiasco bit rather than the other Indie games bit. Presuming the numbers work.

I am expecting 2 more people in addition to me and Pete from Oxford. And plenty of people I mentioned it to at Conception expressed an interest.

I'm pretty sure that if we filled the downstairs area floor to ceiling with purple fluffy elephants then it would be enough!

Yo
Piers - the Magus - mentioned just this the other night. There will definitely be another "stream" running concurrent to this for anyone that fancies the regular programming. Very cool!
No firm numbers as yet, so we'll find out on the day which is just the way I like it
The Fiasco "stream" needs 6 folk to run, split into 2 groups of 3 folk each. I'm confident that we have that at the moment, so any numbers over and above that would be very cool. This is an experiment, and while I think it will be a fun thing to do for a portion of the afternoon, I don't know that it will be a fun thing to do. We'll find out, woot!
Plus, all Fiasco-ers will receive one of these Achingly Hip & Effortlessly Ironic Moustache On A Stick Things. Surprise your friends with your new found hipness, delight your lover with your ironic hirsuteness, and be all the talk of Kidderminster. Available in a number of delightful pastel shades to accessorise well with your lipstick, Achingly Hip & Effortlessly Ironic Moustache On A Stick Things look equally good on women as they do on men.

I suspect demand for these limited edition artifacts will be through the roof *koff, not* So come along to the meet, grab a 'tache, create a playset, play it, and have a good day out in good company. That's the plan, we'll see what happens.
Game on!
Cheers
Pete

Re: Fiasco Playset Design Day at the February Meetup
Hey
A group based in the States is also holding a Fiasco event on the same day as our Fiasco Playset Design Day. They've offered to play the playsets that we'll have created earlier in the day, and thanks to the timezone differences, this might actually work out.
I reckon this is pretty neat. Folk way across the globe will take the fruit of our efforts and give them a whirl in some faraway location like Boise, Idaho. It's always been the plan to publish the playsets we create, and this just bumps things along nicely.
Game on, cheers

Re: Fiasco Playset Design Day at the February Meetup
Oh, hold on
I need your help to make this happen. I will create nicely-polished electronic versions of the playsets right there and then in the London boozer that we're holding the event in.
I then need to upload these PDFs to a website and send an email to the organiser of the Stateside event. Does anyone that is coming to the London Indie Games meet on that day have an iPad or the like with internet access that we can use to do this uploading and emailing? I don't, hence this request for your help.
Help me out brothers and sisters, cheers

Re: Fiasco Playset Design Day at the February Meetup
Will anyone have a laptop/notebook with them? I might be able to bring one along, depending on the post office (waiting a new transformer). Worthwhile people having USB sticks with them to move data around if there are multiple laptops. I'm guessing there will be no option to print stuff out, is there a stationers anywhere nearby that might do print on demand from a USB stick?
I've looked through the bumpf and didn't see anything about templates for creating stuff on. Are there any around (I'm guessing/hoping 'yes') will there be a supply there on the day? We'll want to have somewhere to write crap down that can be seen by all, as well as a way to digitise it at some point to send to the States. Plus, we'll probably want spare sheets to write a 'final play' copy of the playset on to if printing one out isn't an option. As bits of the game are very standardised (there are six of these and they are in sets of six) then blank templates will be a much better way to go than scribbling on completely blank paper.
Any other 'planning' stuff people can think of to make this go as smoothly as possible on the day?

Re: Fiasco Playset Design Day at the February Meetup
Morning campers!
I will have my laptop with me, but it's specifically only there to upload the created playsets.
Well shucks, Graham also mentioned printing on the sister Story Games thread.
If folks would like the playsets that are created printed out, then I'll sort that out. But, really? If folk give me a few days after the event, I will upload polished PDFs of the playsets with covers that can be printed off at leisure. I'm sold on the creation of an artefact, but I'm less sold on distributing physical copies of the artefact right there and then on the day. A physical artefact does have a lot of appeal, but in all honesty I'd just chuck my copy in the bin and wait for the polished PDF download.
I'm totally open to more folk saying "dude, make with the giving out of physical copies of the playset on the day already". If even a sizeable minority are keen for that, then we'll do that.
A sterling idea.
That aspect is already well in hand. I haven't spent all my time printing, cutting, and sticky-ing Achingly Hip & Effortlessly Ironic Moustache On A Stick Things. Well, I have done lots of that, but I have also created a template that folk can fill in and I will print enough copies for lots of tables. Plus, I'll also be providing packs of pencils, marker pens, crayolas, bics, poster-sized cardboard sheets for doodling, index cards, spare jotting paper in a range of soothing pastel colours, and special PTA-style "award badges".
WH Smith made a killing on me the other week
