Movie Club?

Postby Pete » 11:52am on 08 Mar 11

Hee hee, it seemed an obvious next iteration of the Book Club :D

Any interest in a UK Role Players Movie Club? We pick a movie, we watch a movie, we yabber about it, rinse and repeat.

First up, I nominate what any right-minded person has to consider as one of the finest film of the last century: Red Dawn

You can watch the entire movie here, and as such it's a fine first nomination if I say so myself. And I do.

Jennifer Grey was so fine in that film. Still is in a, wierd-plastic-surgery-kind-of-way!

I love that film - not too sure if I'm as keen on the remake that's being released this year though...

I'd be interested and reckon it'd probably have more uptake than the book club, strikes me as more of a gamers 'thing'.

Haven't watched Red Dawn since it first hit VHS at the rental shop! How legal is that link by the way?

You can organise this one Pete, although I suggest a maximum of two suggestions per person if you replicate the book club model...

Well, I've got "The Other Guys" sitting on my shelf ready to watch so that gets my vote!

And I just watched "Tremors" last night and it was just as good as I remembered it being!

Ok, cool, keep the suggestions rolling in and I'll stick up a poll at the end of the week.

OK. I'll suggest the fun time Kevin Smith movie about the problems with the Catholic Church Dogma and psychological horror with early Keira Knightley appearance The Hole.

Good choices. I would add Tom Cruise's Born of the Fourth of July and Russell Crowe's Robin Hood to the mix. The first because I think that Cruise does a fantastic job in it, and the second because I'm still in two minds about whether it's good or bad ;)

How about
Saturn 3
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079285/

or The Medusa Touch
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077921/

Two films I feel are really underrated.

I replace my suggestion of 'Dogma' (although a great film I'll probably suggest at a later date) with Four Lions which we were talking about last week and I realised I really wanted to watch...
