I'm not heading to Graspop this year, but I know with 99% certainty that Tijs, Marco, Derek & Kat will be going.

The only thing I have a concern with is flight costs.

I was kinda initially thinking that we'd ferry it across.

The bracing sea air, the listing side to side, beers and banter in the bar, a crooner singing lullabies: does the sweet romance of a ferry crossing not appeal? Compared to the abbatoir-like herding of flying across on a squashed jet, pissing about with baggage, and no crooning lullaby, the ferry sounds Le Awesome does it not?

Actually yeah that does sound cool. 'Why not start the weekend during the trip?'

The dates seem good, and nearby hostels is a big bonus. We would probably want to block book that for a more comfortable atmosphere in our sleeping arrangements, if possible. And now, the devil in the details:

• Do you know the capacity of hostels in the area in those summer months?
• Could we see a few non-hostel options in the area?
• I've never met a Dutch person who hasn't learned English shockingly well from school age, but will language be an issue?
• Got any pictures of the gaming hall/bar place it's held at, and distance from hostels?
• Is the bar very near other services and food? Link us up on Google Maps!
• How many games per day were you planning... conception style hardcore?

And finally, as this thing gets more and more certain... let's have some Dutch lessons at the Pompey Club

Yeah sorry sweetie, we're probably opting out this year... saving our vacation days to go on a proper vacation for once. Unless it's the BEST LINEUP EVAAAARRRR but by now we've pretty much seen it all anyway.
We still need to do our honeymoon and we'll be married for seven years by that date.

So I'd be cool with 16 June - that'd make sure I'd actually got to celebrate my anniversary for once.

All very good questions and definitely ones we intend to answer. However right now we're still in the gauging interest and preparing stage. As soon as we get things more organized we will come forward with this kind of information.

- Language won't be a problem at all, I assure you. Especially not in Amsterdam, which is incredibly touristy.
- Hostels/hotels: if you book early you should be completely fine. If you're four/five months in advance you shouldn't have a problem. And everything in Amsterdam is walking distance anyway...
- The location we have in mind is within spitting distance of Leidseplein and the Vondelpark, and it's food galore there. There's even some pubs :O
