Re: Early Bookings?
Conception has become a victim of it's own success. It's become a monster and we know that.
We are constrained by the venue which is being improved all the time. There are a lot of new lodges being constructed near the main carpark this year that we may or may not get access too for 2014, hopefully to cover those we lose that go over the cliff every year. If we relocate to another venue then you can be sure that the cost to the "joe punter" will increase dramatically.
Andrew proposed this option to (as previously mentioned) address the issues raised against last years event. This is yet another load of administration the poor chap has to cope with on top of the deluge he faces every August the 1st. If it works and he is prepared to continue it then it will be adopted for the future.
We are but a few devoted volunteers doing our best to bring you an event that does so much for so many.
So please bare with us and give us a chance.

Re: Early Bookings?
Its a fantastic idea and i really think it will address the problem of to few games... groups that are lucky enough to get a lodge in this years 10 second lottery that want to ensure a lodge for the following years event will need to put forward 12 games between them!! awesome sauce as far as im concerned

Re: Early Bookings?
As far as i'm concerned its a great idea. Because it guarantees that folks that ref well above the average (on balance with 1 ref and 6 players you need to ref about one slot in 7, though under six players games outnumbers larger ones so 1 in 6 is probably required. With about 12 playable slots [being realistic about stamina/dire need to prop a bar up occasionally] average only needs to be about 2 games...) will get accommodation. This avoids us losing prolific refs simply because they cannot get accommodation, which has happened before. When the convention has a shortage of games there is i'm affraid a need to let in more refs not more players for who there won't be games if the refs cannot get in!
It's not ideal, we'd wish to let everyone one and have enough games and have the site as well trained on Conmception as Naish and as cheap. Unfortunately you cannot have all those things... (unless you to manage to sneak into the BBC and find out where they hid a functioning Tardis in who's back corners you can hide another 100 Meadow lodges 100ft for the main entrance... but then where the ... would they all park!)
