What was good you for chaps?
We think we fixed all the things that have annoyed us or people have told us were bad from other conventions. Did we succeed?
Some of the things that really worked from my perspective.
The percentile dice random cake stall.
We had lots of cake and people threw D100 to work out how much they had to pay for their cake.
EDIT I think this alone raised about £75 for charity and kept people's blood sugar levels up and their tempers even and happy!
The bags
We had hardly any lost property and people kept all their stuff together.
The signage
Especially the lit signs for the LARP chalets, although I am stunned that someone stole one of the stick on lights from the signs.

Aside from the exceptional organisation, the wonderful welcome (including the program book which I particularly loved) and the way that nothing was ever too much of a problem... the provision of loo roll and dishwasher tablets at ops was good

The greetings on signing in were much appreciated! Very reassuring after the hassle of train delays...
Helpful desk people looking after sleep-deprived gamers who have wandered out without their keys and cannot get back into their beds are also much appreciated.
(having the cellphone numbers listed was VERY USEFUL!)
I still look slightly like a zombie and have memory holes from large parts of the weekend...

Pretty much - as someone darkly muttered "This is what happens if you let Girls organise a Convention!"

As an outsider who was at the event for the last day, I really got to catch up with a lot of people and it was clear to me that people who attended had a good time and that the quality of games being run was very high indeed. I even heard a very well known LARPer say that they had played one of their three best LARPS of all time. From this person who is well known on the scene, that was saying something...
Organisation seemed to be good and there was some nice attention to detail with a great con program, very nice bags and banners.

I think its all been said..
It all worked... and was a great weekend... Well done guys... The only thing is how do you build from here?
The risk is that if you get too many more LARPers that you won't have enough space to run enough games. Not least because the lower bar will have 'mundanes' and this will detract from other LARP games (hence why MIB moved rooms).
I also wonder how to make the event better value for the trade stands... Without a good footfall of people its tricky to pull off a profitable weekend for them.
Finally, the only thing I think we need is a showing of 'The Rocky Horror Picture show' and we have the pefect con! (perhaps I'm the only one who remembers those GENCONs) - I'd suggest it as a LARP, but suspect Ian, John, Paul and the others would not be too keen..
These are all intended to be constructive - I thought the whole thing was fab!

Oscar

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, God said "Let there be lips." And they were, and they were good.

See it's not just me! We were talking about the possibilty of doing a late night Rocky Horror LARP - or at the very least a party which features a showing of the film.

Well, I can't see any reason to object to guys in stockings and girls in maids dresses, can you?
