Under The Guise Of Religion.
The Mortal Perspective.
Overview: The Family International, better known as the Children of God, is one of several deviant sects that emerged from the Jesus People Movement - a religious revival between 1967-1971. The group was founded as "Teens for Christ," by David Brandt Berg, formerly a pastor with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. The name changed first to "Revolution for Jesus," then to "Children of God." Later the movement renamed itself to "Family of Love," and now "The Family International."
Berg's followers founded communes (called "colonies"), rejected mainstream denominationalism, and led a lifestyle which they believed emulated that of early Christians.
Over time Berg viewed himself as "God's Endtime Prophet." Berg wrote over 3,000 letters to his followers, in which he communicated his increasingly bizarre and heretical brand of theology. These letters also included graphic descriptions and portrayal of sexual activities. Berg described God as a "sexy, naked god in a wild orgy of the Spirit" and as "a Pimp".
Berg's radical message to denounce what he called "The System" (systemites) included existing churches. his message to be a "revolutionary" for Jesus and to "forsake all and follow Him" included forsaking parents, jobs, school, and to turn over all possessions to the organization.
Few religious groups have been as consistently controversial as The Family. Its critics — many of them ex-members — maintain that The Family’s leadership follows a policy of lying to outsiders, is steeped in a history of sexual deviance and has even meddled in Third World politics. The Family denies all this, calling such statements “persecution.”
The Vampire Perspective.
Overview: The Family International, some believe it was Asmodeus herself that gave birth to the worm known as Breg other claim it was a child of Mammon, but all knew that he was little more than a leach that suckled at the breast of Asmodeus his mind becoming so clouded but the horrors he witnessed that it takes little understanding to see why he became the creature he is to this day, because in truth what else could he have become.
As with any toy, Asmodeus soon became tired of Breg and like countless others before and after him she tossed him aside without thought. Rejection burned deep within Breg, his soul so bitter and sour, never again would he face rejection and so The Family was born. Around him he gathered Mortal and Vampire alike with the promise of redemption, and the reward of Sin
