OK, so after just over 60 mins the old PC fails. The new one - I reinstall fantasy grounds but it won't let me connect, and skype fails. I try to redownload skype, but it fails to connect to the server.

Sorry Sheldon, didn't check the boards since Tuesday.

Does anyone know of a good mirror site for skype, as the official one doesn't work for me. Also, I transferred over Skype and FG from my old computer and they didn't work - I've reinstalled FG, but skype isn't even showing up when I search my hard drive.

Well I am guessing there were problems as no-one has showed up on line ... I'll be on next Sunday evening, regardless, so I should see you guys then!

Edit: I see Tom is still having problems. Have you tried uninstalling everything, Tom, then reinstalling it all from scratch?

I can't even find Skype to uninstall it, and whenever I try to download skype from the official site it doesn't let me....

This is seriously annoying. I can theoretically use my old computer, but last week it cut out through overheating after 1 hour.

Sheldon, that link's no help - I download the skype installer, run it and it gets stuck at the "Downloading Skype" stage, saying "We are having problems connecting to the download server. To download an alternative installer for Skype, please click the download button".

So I'm still screwed.

Could be your firewalls, try disabling everything for a start.

Failing that I'll be down in a few weeks with the kids to see the grand parents, I'd be glad to take a look at it then if you still need the help. To uninstall, you can go to the Control Panel and click on Add/Remove Programs, and select Skype from the list there if you can see it.
