And now I'm looking at that, in 'Relationships - From the Empire - 4. Aussie convict and benefactor' I've got the wrong word there, if we're going for a Great Expectations feeling then the convict should be the benefactor so a better option would be something like 'Aussie convict and beneficiary'

Yo
Ohhh, corking idea. Yes, let's. Your proposed insta-setup looks good. I'll add that into the existing download tomorrow unless anyone has any changes.
Cheers

There are a few dotted around that are silly, almost just to see if people notice them.
Do you want to give it a pass and see if new stuff comes to mind? Following that we have a concerted effort to hit 8 in each set (more if the feeling takes) and then do a critique of each to see which people are least happy with?
This could really do with its own subject. If you want to leave it in the Meetup Group, although I'm not sure it fits, then why not start a topic called 'Chrome'...
I have stuck a few more things in, and will try and think of some more. I am not sure where would be the best place to put a new thread, as there doesn't really seem an appropriate section.

Re: Fiasco Playset Design Day at the February Meetup
The comments about our Egyptian Expedition playset are interesting. Whilst designing we debated (albeit briefly) over whether it should be a more generic exploration or specifically Egypt and decided the latter. On the other hand, it's hard to come up with pithy phrasings of everything that contain all the content one desires ("Chief Egyptologist at Edinburgh University and his illegitimate son by the Bedouin he fell in love with" is hardly concise).
The Gonzo-ness is very much an issue. Whilst I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to have a little bit of it there, perhaps one needs to be mindful in the set up of how much one wants as a group. Which is not the best disclaimer I'll admit.
When I first read the comment about the problem stemming from the Miscellany Relationships - I was a tad confused - how could those six relationships cause such issues? Then I reread the playset. I think changing all but two of those relationships (the Doctor and Patient and the Detective and Assistant) might ground the playset a good deal more. Though I'm but one of the authors how does the following sound?
1 - Maverick Scholar and Assistant
2 - Fellows of a Gentlemen's Club
3 - Last of an Ancient Lineage
4 - Doctor and Patient
5 - Detective and Assistant
6 - Foreign Agents
Otherwise, the criticism is appreciated, the designing was fun, and the playing was just as fun! Well done all!
Stuart.

Re: Fiasco Playset Design Day at the February Meetup
Hiya
I have updated the playsets that were created on the day with some copy for the London Indie RPG Meetup on the credits page and w00hoo's Insta-Setup. Here are the links again:
I'm not keen to incorporate revisions to the playsets that were designed on the day: they are what they are and they stand as examples of what we did on the day. I've added w00hoo's Insta-Setup because that just adds one more page and doesn't change anything that was done by the group.
What I have done is uploaded the OpenOffice Writer files that I used to create the playset PDFs. If you like, you can download those and make any changes you desire there.
You'll need to install some fonts prior to working with the documents:
If there's anything else I can help with, let me know here.
Cheers

You'll need the Hitchcock font installed locally on your (Windows/Mac) machine in order for this template document to be styled like the official Fiasco playsets. The dice font can be downloaded here: Dice - The Font.
If there's anything else I can help with, let me know here.

Re: Fiasco Playset Design Day at the February Meetup
Right, new topic here -
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=9993
The playset now has 8 options for every category so we need to start the pruning. I'll put up the first 8 and we can debate about them, see what people think.
Anyone know how to change the colour of text on the wiki? Best thing would be to mark the two we get rid of but not delete them until we're finished in case the tone of the playset changes between the first discussions and the last ones.
