Consternation Room Bookings (Over)Due
I've recently been reminded that we really, really need to let the venue know our (fairly) final numbers for room bookings now. Hence, this is a call for anyone who's booked for the con but not sorted out their accommodation yet to do so now, and anyone who hasn't booked yet but who's planning to, and who'll need a room, to get their fingers out.
Room bookings received after Thursday this week (9th June) cannot be guaranteed to work. We'll do our best, but we're already later than we should be.

Re: Consternation Room Bookings (Over)Due
We have unfortunately MASSIVELY over-booked rooms for the convention, so we are virtually certain to be able to fit people in... (the College will try to sell rooms elsewhere, but we aren't holding our breath!)
If anyone is thinking about coming to the Convention -- please book in advance so we know

If you are coming but haven't got round to book rooms, it is STILL a good time to book
- never been better!

If you haven't yet signed up, but might also want to stay over, please do!

Just clearing with family and will get my booking in.
It would be lovely to know who is coming so far. Do you have a membership list?

Uh, yeah, we do have a membership list... I'm never sure about posting those sorts of things completely publicly, though. Call me old-fashioned, but spraying other people's names and travel plans around without their explicit permission doesn't sit well with me.

Fair enough, different approaches and one you could discuss with your committee. At Furnace and Continuum we openly know who is going to be there and it's just what I've got used to.
I'm intending to go, but my decision is affected slightly by actually knowing some of the people that will be there. It's not that I don't find mixing with new people difficult, I just like to have an idea on membership before I go. A small response to the 'who's going' thread suggests that membership is largely made up of people who don't frequent a couple of the forums that I visit. (Tavern and here). If that is so its quite interesting, suggesting that Consternation has a slightly different demographic (in a small pool) to the other few conventions that I go to.
Or it could be that everyone from Continuum, Furnace and Conquest will be there and I am talking rubbish!

Well, I am a Continuumnist and I'll be at Consternation. So there will be at least one person you might have seen before!

What will the chances be of turning up on the Friday with a handful of cash and getting a room? It's looking promising that we're getting shot of the kids for a few days so might actually be in a position to attend. That said nothing is definate hence why we're going to push your organisation skills to the limits

So far as I know, quite good. However, (a) we absolutely cannot guarantee this, and (b) if there are rooms available, the prices may be higher than if you'd pre-booked (as you might not get the discount that we receive).
I'll try to find out a day or two before the con where things stand, and pass word on here. However, con organisers and venues both prefer pre-bookings for good reasons.

Cheers. To be honest I like pre-booking but we have kids and won't know our situation until the week. Kids trump any planning

Re: Consternation Room Bookings (Over)Due
Room bookings have now officially closed (we're still taking advance memberships, for now), but it is possible that we can still get a few extra rooms. Let us know your requirements and send full payment, and we'll do our best, and refund your money if necessary. Relevant information is (still) at http://www.consternation.org/Accommodation.html .

I'll be there, with bells on! Not those huge campanology ones, you understand, more like Swiss cowbells.
What games do you like? I'm currently playing in a HEX game- Yo! dig that Indiana Jones nazi-bashing explorer vibe- but like all sorts, everything from trad CoC to Fiasco and back again.
I'll also be flogging copies of... http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/33723/lecardo on my trader stand. But hope to be doing lots of gaming. Yee hah!
Miaow!!
