Re: Stockport Games Society
Hi, I joined the games society for a few months about two years ago when I was for home for the summer from university, I had a lot of fun playing Werewolf with one of the groups, i'm now moving back to Stockport and I was wondering if there were any spaces in any of your current games?

Just for reference, and depending on where in Stockport you live, STURP runs out of the KRO in Heaton Moor, near Heaton Chapel railway station off the A6. We currently meet on Monday evening (which may slip back to Wednesday in the New Year, the night we previously met) and run various games - currently Dresden Files and Dragon Age.
You can find a STURP Club entry somewhere in the main Forum page.

I was just wondering whether you are still meeting on Mondays or whether you are now back to Wednesdays as I may now be able to attend this group.

Hi,
Is it alright if I come and join you guys? I could pop down on Monday to see what you are all doing?

Absolutely. We had a newcomer drop in this past Monday, who then had a hopefully fulfilling storytelling experience, so you're more than welcome to drop by. I'm not 100% clear what's playing, but I'm certain we have room for a visitor somewhere. We're going through a post-Christmas period at the moment where we haven't quite slipped into the old routine, so you might need to excuse us if we seem unorganized.

Great, thanks! I've come down with a gross cold this weekend though so I'm not going to inflict myself on you this week. Hope to see you next Monday.

Re: Stockport Games Society
Paul Baldowski,
Why are you posting for Recruiting in someone elses recruitment thread?
Surely the place for that is your own thread, this makes it look like you are affiliated with this other group.
Which you clearly are not.
Aren't there rules on here about hijacking other peoples threads?

That's a pretty "in your face" first post!

The forum rules can be found here. I've re-read through the posts above and can see that Paul was offering information about another group in a helpful manner. I can't see any malicious intent - and, given the timeframe involved (and lack of posts) it's obvious that no-one else from the Stockport Games Society thought so.

Re: Stockport Games Society
The original RPG Club / Group that this post was created by have had a change of Venue, we now game at Marauder Games/North West Gaming Centre, Hallam Mill, Hallam Street, Stockport, SK2 6PT.
As of the 29th of March games will be running on a Thursday night, starting from 7 to 7:30pm and usually finishing around 11pm.
Current Games on offer are :-
DeathWatch - playing a Space Marine in the 40K Universe. Big Guns are clearly going to be involved in this one. However it is not a wargame and will involve lots of RolePlay not just roll play.
Pathfinder - traditional fantasy rpg using 3.5 rules. This game has already started but may have space for more players.
Game of Thrones - don't know much about this one other than TV Series and the books. Could do with a flick through the rulebook myself.
You will find a variety of players most of whom are happy to try all sorts of RPGs. Always on the lookout for more Players and GMs so whatever your tastes pop along and take a look.

Re: Stockport Games Society
Apologies, it wasn't meant to be an in your face post.
I just thought it a bit odd that another club would be posting their details in a thread all about another club.
I hope at least you can understand my reasoning for the query, even if my less than diplomatic style did put noses out of joint.
I will try and tone things down, I have been told before that I often come across in that way and will make more of an effort to calm it down
I hope that my blunt manner is not taken as aggression or anger in anyway because that is not the spirit in which it was written.
I'm learning to play nice
but it's a slow process.
