As will be Roll20.

I'll be able to run some games early May (with Roll20) if anyone is interested? Parsec, Dungeon World and Monster of the Week currently have my attention :)

Sorry Baz for the hijack...

There are a few people that don't like the social networks, so might not want to try Google Hangouts. Whilst I play on Fantasy Grounds predominantly (atm), Roll20 is fully browser based, also free (once out of closed beta) and would appear to do the same as Google Hangouts...

No need to apologise. I think its definitely worth having a place to recruit online gamers. We have a pbp forum already, which is cool, but not quite the same thing. Perhaps a sub forum within the Gamers forum? Or maybe this is niche enough to stay here, dunno.

And as to what tech to use, well that's probably not a big deal, it's just a tool like the dice or what sort of pen you use. The games the thing. :)

Thanks to Baz for testing my Hangout settings last night. Sound on Linux is always iffy, and it was good to get the bugs ironed out before play on Friday.

Speaking of Friday, how do people feel about me playing a Goblin?

I had to re-read that. First time round I saw "being" and not "playing".

Thought this had turned into a therapy thread.

Everyone loves Goblins, surely?

I like the inclusion of the Goblin rather than the standard halfling. It adds a bit of grit. I'd be really pleased if someone took it on.

Hi guys,

Work permitting, I should be able to join you. I was thinking about the magic user or the cleric but do not mind any other character.

I've been using G+ Hangouts for gaming and found they work very well indeed for games that don't need a battlemap. If you do need one then there is a specialised package that runs on top of G+ Hangouts called Tabletop Forge. It's currently in beta but seem pretty good.

I've tried some of the other VTTs and found Infrno problematic, probably due to either hardware issues or the US based server. Older packages like MapTool require router configuration for the host to allow access so need a tech savvy host whereas the browser based VTTs don't.

The UK broadband infrastructure is a possible bottleneck for any game though as urban centres have much better transmission speeds. If you live out in the country don't expect video to be free of delays and lag.

I rolled 2d10 six times, looked up the bonus and then assigned them, seems the way the system intends it to be.
