Thanks for the game last night Phil!

I don't think we got any group xp goals, and my paladin didn't get any alignment or bond xp either.

See you next time Elina and Ben!

I thoroughly enjoyed the game too.

Not 100% clear still on how the XP works.

I believe I got two for failed rolls, how do you gain alignment XP?

Session 2

Valeria the paladin shouted her challenge to the tomb raiders but received harsh, mocking laughter in return, and she readied for battle. Viridian the wizard turned herself invisible and moved past Valeria to surprise two raiders with a quick attack.

As the fight started, Willem the bard shuffled down the rope to join the mayor’s two useless offspring in the first barrow chamber. He quickly ordered them into the action, and, recognising his friends up ahead, sang a song of hope and joy that raised Viridian’s spirits, helping her to shrug off the blows of the raiders.

Rapier in one hand and mandolin in the other, Willem advanced toward the rest of the group, but stumbled while lunging at a tomb robber and dropped his mandolin behind Valeria, who unknowingly kicked it back down the passageway as she braced to charge past one of the robbers. Willem briefly left the fight to retrieve the family heirloom.

The moaning of the undead approaching down another corridor alarmed one of the boys. Viridian quickly brought the fighting to a halt by bargaining with the tomb raiders to help - or at least not interfere - with the coming battle against the undead. Torn by conflicting duties, Valeria rushed off to assist Willem, followed by Viridian, while the raiders huddled back to await the outcome.

The lead undead shambled to a stop, its red glowing eyes boring into Viridian’s, but with a herculean effort she shook off their effect and blasted the skeleton’s skull to fragments with a powerful magic bolt. The rest of the party eliminated the threat in short order, and the tomb raiders seized the opportunity to leave. Valeria looked to Viridian who muttered that she knew who they were and the party could track them down later.

Exploring down a corridor, Viridian sensed a powerful magic in one of the rooms. She turned the sneakier of the mayor’s boy invisible and he slid into the room, moving round one side. Ahead, Valeria could sense a ghostly undead apparition, but Viridian’s attention was focused on where the source of the magic could be found. Both charging forward, the women jammed shoulder to shoulder in the doorway and fell back, cursing.

The ghost moved sideways through a wall and Valeria ran back out, recklessly kicking down the door and charging into the room next door to confront it, while Viridian scampered after the source of the magical force drawing her on - a mysterious clay tablet.

Barely noticing the wisps of webbed silk they ran through, the mayor’s warrior son and Valeria ran up to the ghost but found that it ignored their cold steel. More warily, Willem peered up through the doorway to see a large spider-like form glide down from the alcoves. A torch set the web on fire, however the dry wood shattered doorframe eagerly took the flame too, and quickly turned the doorway into an inferno.

In one swift motion Willem drew his rapier and thrust precisely through the spider’s head, killing it on the spot.

Valeria rejoined the party and, seeing the warriors struggling to hit the incorporeal ghost, blasted away with her magic missile. Valeria winced, remembering the wizard’s last magic attack from behind the front line, but this time the missile struck true. The ghost clutched wildly for Valeria and missed, but struck down the mayor’s valiant if inept warrior son. Valeria desperately snatched up the boy, but got caught on the flaming doorframe trying to exit the room...

wraithben, did i send you the pdf, if not do you want it?

There are two times when you mark XP: when you roll a miss (6-) and when you make the End of Session move.

When you reach the end of a session, choose one your bonds that you feel is resolved (completely explored, no longer relevant, or otherwise). Ask the player of the character you have the bond with if they agree. If they do, mark XP and write a new bond with whomever you wish.
Once bonds have been updated look at your alignment. If you fulfilled that alignment at least once this session, mark XP. Then answer these three questions as a group:
• Did we learn something new and important about the world?
• Did we overcome a notable monster or enemy?
• Did we loot a memorable treasure?
For each "yes" answer everyone marks XP.

The Bards Good alignment states: Perform your art to aid someone else, and general Good alignments include but aren't limited too:
• Ignore danger to aid another
• Lead others into righteous battle
• Give up powers or riches for the greater good
• Reveal a dangerous lie
• Show mercy

btw, I've a fair bit of prep for UK Games Expo this week, can we postpone next session until week after? If everyone really wants to play this week then I could probably stretch to a 2 hour session... :)

You did send me things for the chapters broken up - but for some reason they won't open.

As to play this week - that's up to you, I'd enjoy playing, but if you're busy you're busy.

XP-wise: AS well as my two misses, I think I can claim on my alignment as well - giving the aid to the paladin at the beginning of the fight, and then again when I used my art to heal the wizard. I've got a vague recollection of maybe using it a third time, but can't be 100% sure I'm afraid. However even without that I think I can claim I fulfilled the alignment at least once that session.

I'll keep better track next time.

I believe that makes me 3xp marked currently.
