Certainly I've never done anything crap on purpose to get a game. I've had my ups and downs, but role-playing in England with you chaps and chapesses is, on the whole, rather good. I like my role-playing, sure thing, but not enough to wolf down a pattie made from sweaty bum grapes.

Gone without sleep all weekend (friday to monday) with a DC heroes and BECMI marathon with me GMing and one player. The sun was blazing down outside, I looked like a zombie and stank when I stumbled out, a mix of BO & bad breath. The player (my mate) was a smoker so I stank like a cross between an ash tray and a drug den (depended on what he was smoking) and I needed a shower (or 10), a shave and a life.

It wasn't long after that I discovered getting drunk and chasing after girls could be fun, so spent the next decade doing that. Strangely enough, the RPGs I remember, don't remember a damn thing about the decade I had off RPGs.

Been to a few cons. The people there reminded me of how I used to be (see above) except with straining t shirts (showing some rock band or other) round the middle (we hardly ate because it took up valuable hard core play time), more hair on the face (my best attempt at a beard took weeks and looked pathetic. I can grow more hair on my ass.) and less on top (though the tide is going out).

Part of me wishes I was still there, despite all that. I bet they have more fun than I do (wife, 2 kids, mortgage, dog, 60+ hours at work driving trains every week)! Not sure my body (or sanity!) could take what I used to get up to though!
