For those planning to travel via public transport, here is a list of the tube works this weekend to help you plan your journey: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/livetravelnew ... et=weekend

So from those coming from outside of London, looks like the route via the Tube will be:

King's Cross St Pancras -> Edgware Road westbound on the Hammersmith & City Line
Edgware Road -> High Street Kensington westbound on the District Line

I was going to get the no. 10 bus from Kings Cross. It's a bit slower, but less faffing about and it stops outside High St Ken tube station.

What time are you getting to St Pancras?

Some horrendous hour, because I couldn't get a seat on the train that gets in at 8.40am. I think my train gets in around 7.45am, so the first thing I'll be doing is getting breakfast!

Oh Mick, you big tease, how could you possibly suggest you're going to bail?

Victoria -> Oxford Circus, northbound on the Victoria Line.
Oxford Circus -> Notting Hill Gate, westbound on the Central Line.
Notting Hill Gate -> High Street Kensington, southbound on the District Line.

There's probably buses that someone more au fait with London could tell you about too, or there's the fun of a London taxi, something to be experienced at least once.

The route is a bit messed up. I'd say Picadilly line to Oxford Circus, Central to Notting Hill gate then walk from there. It's not that far from Notting Hill gate.

The TfL Journey plannershould give you the route in a printable form.

The times on the Web-Site are unrealistic though - I'd say it will take you a least half-hour.

Who else is getting into London at a ridiculously early time? I land on the overnight bus at Victoria at around 06.30, so breakfast is very very high on my agenda. A geeky gamer pre-con brekkie would make much sense and I seem to remember there is a McDs around the corner from the venue. Hmmmmm....

Yeah, what Pedr said. Sort out a cab, lest you be accused of being weak.
