We’ll Meet Again

The team is called in for a briefing on a recon mission to P9F-405: a MALP has sent back some data which needs to be checked out. Sure, the Stargate is in the middle of a grove of trees and the local DHD is unused, but there’s also an overgrown, cobbled track leading to a fertile valley, fields and orchards, and small boys tending herds of goats. There’s even an Iron-Age town a couple of miles distant.

The problem is that on a hill overlooking the town there is a Greek temple and a geodesic dome. And on the eastern edge of town there’s an enormous flat expanse of what looks suspiciously like concrete, possibly even a runway. Whatever, it’s definitely NOT Iron Age technology!

The PC team is just back from a week long mission to PX-90210, which is quite possibly the most boring planet in the galaxy. It was formerly held by Baal, but he abandoned it a few centuries ago when the naquada mines ran out. The local population is sparse and scrapes a living by subsistence farming. The PCs were made welcome, and have had to suffer a week of tedium while the team archaeologist/anthropologist translated inscriptions on local ruins that all basically say “Yeah, there really is NOTHING of value left on this planet, so I’m leaving, love Baal.” The highlight of the mission has been the locals singing an interminable song about ploughing (all 47 verses of it) before every meal, and village debate about which kid the local bronze-smith should take on as his apprentice. Oh, and after the 5th or 6th bowl of lentil and mutton soup with black bread, even MREs taste good…

The PCs are called into an emergency briefing - several members of SG-25 have gone AWOL a few days after returning from P4X-932-C, a world orbiting a red giant star. While military police and SGC security teams attempt to track down the missing people on Earth, the PCs are asked to go to P4X-932-C and see if they can figure out what might have caused SG-25 to vanish.
