Savage Mojo and Smiteworks announce partnership
Savage Mojo has made an agreement with SmiteWorks USA to deliver the Suzerain roleplaying experience to your virtual gaming table. SmiteWorks will develop a series of rules and campaign-based products for the Fantasy Grounds II virtual tabletop, starting with a free version of the Savage Suzerain Player’s Guide for the Savage Worlds rules system.
The CEO of SmiteWorks, Doug Davison said, “Suzerain will allow GMs and players to experience a unique roleplay experience that spans time periods and creates its own genre. Who wouldn’t want to direct their players as they ascend to Demigod status? This conversion will put everything right at your fingertips and we are happy to work with Savage Mojo to see this brought to the Fantasy Grounds community.”
“We’re over the moon about this opportunity.” added Martin Klimes, Publisher at Savage Mojo. “Fantasy Grounds is the best virtual tabletop out there, and it’s great to think that soon players from all round the world will be able to get together thanks to the talent and diligence of Doug’s team. Heck, I plan to use it to run a couple of campaigns for other members of the Savage Mojo family, so if you want to do some online roleplay with us, just let me know!”
Development work for the new range of products will begin shortly, and a further announcement will be made as the first ruleset comes out of testing.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Savage Mojo was formed under the name ‘Talisman Studios’ in 2003 as an art and design studio to the adventure games industry, the brainchild of master artists Jason Engle and Aaron Acevedo. The studio is an Origins Award Winner (for Deadlands Reloaded), and has worked on hundreds of products. In May 2007 the company stepped up a gear, becoming a publisher in its own right, starting with its Gamescapes line of game accessories and building up to the launch of Suzerain. 2008 saw the company work on more than a hundred high art gaming products, with Suzerain being Origins Award semi-finalists. 2009 expanded the range of books and game accessories further and brought products to print for the first time. 2010 sees Savage Mojo in game shops everywhere through a partnership with Cubicle 7.
SmiteWorks USA, LLC is best known for producing the Fantasy Grounds II virtual tabletop application. There are currently more than 17,000 active licenses sold for Fantasy Grounds and there is a vibrant and active community at www.fantasygrounds.com. The Fantasy Grounds program provides a basic online role-playing framework, with both commercial and fan-made rulesets specific to a number of different role-playing games.
Suzerain is a multi-genre, multi-world game universe, Origins Award nominated in 2008. Ron Blessing of The Game’s The Thing (www.thegamesthething.com) had this to say about it, “I can’t wait to spend time in this playground. As a whole it’s awesome. Suzerain can be as simple or detailed as the players and GM want. The art is absolutely gorgeous. Hopefully it’s obvious I’m pretty high on this product. Wow. Just wow.” You can find out more about Savage Suzerain, the version of the Suzerain universe for the multi award-winning Savage Worlds rules system, here: savagemojo.com/tiki-index.php?page=Savage+Suzerain.
