Introduction

Rumour travels quick. Once the most feared man on the streets, the Daddy has been told he has days left. Some cancer with a big name. But surely, the gossip goes, he should be feared more now. It means he has so much less to lose, and you can be sure he wants to set his community straight before he goes.

The Rules

The Goal of the Game

Explore a community and the developing relationships between the characters within it.

No grand arc, nothing epic, just a slice of life.

Conflicts

If a conflict occurs between characters, the Daddy's player may resolve it however they like. For example, the Daddy's player might ask the players involved to negotiate the outcome, or ask for input from an uninvolved player or they may just describe it themselves.

How'd you like them apples? I got me some fiat all up in your structured freeform

The Alarm

Any player can call the Alarm any time they feel someone’s narration is innappropriate, confusing or a little weak. This isn’t a bad thing! Just quickly discuss if the narration needs to be tweaked or reworked to fit.

The story continues once everyone is satisfied.

A player can also call the Alarm if they are uncomfortable with what is occuring in the fiction. In which case, the player may ask that the fiction is not described, or even that the event does not occur. No justification required and no questions asked.

Help!

Any player can ask for help any time they are confused about the fiction or rules, or they need ideas. The story can continue as soon as the player who asked for help is ready to do so.

How to Frame Scenes, Be Awesome, etc etc

As with Witch.

Flow of Play

In the first round of scenes, scenes only feature two characters each.

The Daddy's player frames the first scene, by picking another character for the Daddy to have a scene with, and a location.

After that scene, the player chosen frames a scene featuring their character and another character who hasn't appeared yet. And then that player frames a scene, and so on until every character has featured.

After this, scenes are elective.

The game ends when two characters have answered all their questions, and the Daddy dies.

Pete asks: Does the Daddy only die at the end of the game? Or can the Daddy die before the end of the game? What about Epilogues?
