Great idea. But how would you phrase it? I did suggest the theme "there have been no games published since 1984" at the end of the first Seven Hills. You youngsters might want to make that a later year.

It would let us play early AD&D though which is apparently like 5th ed.....

If anyone wants to formally suggest "crunchy systems" as the 2017 theme, I'm willing to drop it in the hat!

Not any more as I've split it off into its own thread. ;)

thenovalord wrote:1984. Big Brother Speaks. All new rpgs after this proclamation are banned......

Doesn't work for me as I didn't start role playing until 1984!

thenovalord wrote:put me down for 1st edition chill, SPI dragonquest and some urban rolemaster

I'd happily play some urban Rolemaster though ;)

Can we put "Crunchy systems" AND "1984: Big Brother Speaks. All new Roleplaying games written after the proclamation are banned" into the hat - as two separate entries?

I really think I must insist that if the theme is anything '80s then we go the whole hog and dress like it's the decade in question and revert to the haircuts of the time as well.

It's only sensible.

TBH I think I've still got mine......

However, can I point out that we're not coming dressed as Earth, Wind and Fire THIS year.....

Yes, we can. I've also received suggestions for:

The 1990s
Love and Death
d6 Only
Anthropomorphic Animals
History

The method is that I'll take the suggestions I like the look of, and draw one randomly at the end of the raffle.
