I read this on the KS:
Combat example:
A character that has Skill value 7 in the skill Combat, level 2 in Discipline ”Close combat arms” and level 3 in the Specialty ”One handed weapons” (right hand) has a total Skill value of 15 (7+1+1+2+2+2).

And it put me right off (just the tedious minutiae of it, not even that 7+2+3 became 7+1+1+2+2+2?)! I'm also assuming that the speciality 1H (Right) applies equally to a mace, sword, flail and dagger etc, it seems to me if you want to go down the simulationist 'speciality' route then you should have different ones depending on weapon type. It's a halfway house for me at the moment which seems neither abstract and quick enough nor in-depth and accurate, instead compromising both and sitting in the middle ground.

Not for me thanks, although the setting looks interesting the system does not. I'm sure people will love it though and more power to them and I wish them good gaming with it.

Just backed the KS for LexOccultum another Swedish rpg set in a fantasy 18th Century.

Setting looks great. System not so much

Due to it's unforgiveable lack of support for the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth I cannot allow myself to back this one..

Seriously, I have fallen, but just at the 100SEK level, as part of my 'support the cool stuff but don't buy too much', and also since I really like the Riotminds idea that this and Trudvang will be fully readable, playable and useable on their online portal.

So I can play them with you lot remotely online, the rules online level is just right for now..

I'm backing Simon Burley's Code of Shojo and Shonen kickstarter. I'd feel pretty stupid if I didn't, after moaning on at him about a colour hardback version.
And Innocents, because I want to see how far it can go in a week.

Yeah, me too with Mandate of Heaven. Get some more of that Monkey magic!
I was really hoping that Defenders of the Dragon Empire would fund as a separate book in the kickstarter for Monkey. That's a hint, if you're reading Newt.

I'm backing the first expansion for Kaigaku, the Ruined Kingdom. This is a campaign book which is also on a short campaign (3 days left). There's also an option to get the core rules in print at cost.

I was amused where the comment and update counts stand on extremely troubled Alas Vegas Kickstarter just as James Wallis finally appears to be shipping it.

I also toned down my Tal backing after talking to Paul M and then decided to back Exilum.

I've found Greg Saunders and Fire Ruby games to be interesting, curious, maybe even flawed, but well worth a read:

Exilium - an Open D6 Science Fiction Roleplaying Game
A pen-and-paper science fiction Open D6 roleplaying game from Fire Ruby Designs about post-humans who've fallen from grace.
