Very pleased to have splurged on, read in an evening and fallen in love with Yoon-Suin.

I know exactly where it goes in my mashup fantasy campaign but whether I will get to run it I don't know.

I love these "roll your own sandbox books"Image

Gosh, it seems ages since we talked about that. Are you out of your period of purdah for the PhD?

My Furnace purchases: Paranoia and Tortuga 1667.

Nearly didn’t buy Paranoia because of my loathing for the shyster who worked with Grant Howitt and Paul Dean on it. But why penalise them for the other bloke?

I backed the Tortuga Kickstarter but haven't had a chance to play it yet. It's a lovely looking box though :)

I noticed that there is a matching Salem game from the same publisher...

Yeah, I picked that up as an add-on during the Kickstarter as well. It looks just as lovely but, again, I've not played it yet.

It looked interesting, but seemed a little too ‘Werewolf’ to me...

Oh so many shiny books on the Patriot Stall, but seeing as I have a hard time getting in my Office due to previous purchases I just had to say nope! Nearly weakened and bought Starfinder, because it is sssssssoooo shiny, but made the mistake of asking Graham (aka FirstAge) for approval and in his best voice he simply said: "No it's not you".

I did get "Uh-Oh, Monsters!" the boxed supplement for No thanks Evil for me and the kids. I got the core set, which if you want the dry version is Cortex for Kids, as part of the Kickstarter. It's basically a two books + counters. Book 1 is a Monsters book, many of which from a quick flip through are much more imaginative and fun than the core box. Book 2 is a book of adventures. Even if I don't get any use out of it, the kids will happily pick it up (they do that with games, I show them how to play, then I come down and find them playing it without me :D

I had a bit of a splurge and acquired so useful bits and pieces for gaming.
First up are some movies:

Clash of the Titans (the Harryhausen version) and Thief of Baghdad (the 1940's version). I'm expecting the Harryhausen collection with 7th Voyage Of Sinbad/The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad/Sinbad And The Eye Of the Tiger/Jason & The Argonauts to arrive in the next couple of days. Together with a double disc version of The Mummy (Karloff) and The Creature for the Black Lagoon I shall be all set up for Sword and Sorcery style gaming inspiration for the next week or so.

Then there are some books:

I spotted a link to an Air Ministry publication during some research and that led me to a couple of nice little 4x5" booklets republished by Penguin this year. There are four books in the series but I got just two - Desert Survival and Jungle Survival. They run to about 60 pages apiece and have tons of useful information that I shall deploy during various games for verisimilitude. If you want to know exactly how many quarts of water it takes to survive then there is a table for that (basically 10 quarts per man means you have 3.5 days at 120 F).

I don't want to admit my splurging. I think I've gone a bit nuts lately.

Read between the lines, Dom. He's basically bought every copy of everything he ever wrote in order to boast about sales. It's all the rage.

Okay...honest splurge confessions...

Furnace haul
Some of Dom's Unknown Armies 2 books at Furnace (Hush, Hush, To Go, Lawyers Guns and Money, Postmodern Magic).
Also from Dom: Chronicle Feudalis.
From Neil Gow: Fiasco and the Fiasco Companion
Transhumanity's Fate (Fate conversion of Eclipse Phase)
Fate Adversary Kit
Newt also gave me copies of the revised OpenQuest, Life and Death: Crypts and Things edition, and The Hollow West. The Hollow West in particular is likely to see some juicy play from me (at Seven Hills or a home game).

Recent things outside Furnace
Mythras: Classic Fantasy
Orpheus (the old White Wolf ghost game)
Star Trek Adventures
All the Strange, Strange Creatures (for the Doctor Who RPG)
Cthulhu City

I feel dirty now.
