Arion Games and Precis Intermedia Join Forces

By on 7 July 2009

Arion Games and Precis Intermedia, two leading publishers of paper miniatures, join forces to offer their vast collections in one place. In addition to the Ennie Award-nominated Disposable Heroes(R) collection, Precis Intermedia will now also offer Arion Games’ beautifully-rendered collection for even more variety (adding all sets over time). To complete this partnership, the two publishers are slated to create joint sets, combining Arion Games’ artwork with the flexibility of Disposable Heroes’ customizable options, such as labeling, numbering, and the ability to create armies. Additionally, Precis Intermedia can also print Arion Games’ sets in full-color and ship them to you as an option.

Arion Games was formed 4 years ago, and since then has produced nearly one-hundred sets of paper miniatures, comprising over 2,100 individual figures. With a huge range covering fantasy, sci-fi, historical, modern and even fairy tales, Arion Games has something for every game. Order Arion Games’ paper miniatures via Precis Intermedia using this link.

Precis Intermedia incorporates one of the first e-publishing RPG companies and produces both tabletop and roleplaying games, as well as accessories like Disposable Heroes Paper Minis. Disposable Heroes are available in two downloadable formats, Customizable and Statix, as well as pre-printed sets.

Customizable Disposable Heroes are full color, downloadable paper miniatures that can be customized through an online interface. Specify the figures that are downloaded to a PDF file, and whether they are labeled and/or numbered. Entire pages of duplicate figures can also be downloaded, making the creation of armies a breeze. Each set is available as A-Frame Stand-ups, Tri-Fold Stand-ups, and Flat Counters. When printed, the minis are sharp and detailed.

Statix Disposable Heroes consist of beautifully-illustrated, ready-to-print paper miniatures in the same three formats but as a single, convenient download. For those who need armies, Statix sets give you just that–a filled sheet of each figure in each of the three formats, along with sequential numbering to keep track of duplicates.

About Dave McAlister

Dave has been roleplaying for over 30 years, having played and/or run most mainstream systems with the espionage genre being an early favourite. So much so that, in 1999, he started Modus Operandi. That same year he joined the Sarbreenar "Living" campaign team as their plotline controller before moving across to the Living Spycraft campaign team (as UK Regional Branch Director) in 2003. 2003 also saw the birth of UK Role Players as well as Dave's first freelance writing appointment (co-writing World Militaries and consulting on both US Militaries and Battlegrounds, all for Spycraft). Since then, Dave has concentrated on supporting the UK gaming scene. He has organised and run several small, one-day, events and was the RPG Area Manager for Gen Con UK in 2004. His current favourite systems are Dungeons & Dragons (specifically 5th Edition), Savage Worlds and Cinematic Unisystem. He has a (currently neglected) blog at and runs a D&D 5e SRD website at
