[Precis Intermedia] High Valor (Revised Edition) Precis Intermedia

New Revised Edition (2016), now published by Precis Intermedia.

“The weight of the world is upon your shoulders, my son; we are the last-born children of the dream. Even now, the darkness gathers. The Fane-Lords have not relented in their desire to see us broken again by their lashes and yoked to their rule. The Black Gate trembles and cracks, and soon we will be all that stands between the Fane and man. Now is the time that the valor of few will decide the fate of legions.”

-Vilotr, Knight of the Veil, to his protégé, Squire Kaledraes

The Black Gate has fallen. The long night begins!

The Free Kingdoms struggle to leave their Dark Ages behind just as their deepest fears are realized. The enemies of mankind, demonic Fane-Lords who once enslaved man, have destroyed the Black Gate that held them in their own lands. Now all of the races of man — Dvegr, Humans, Sidda, Sidhain, and the Fane-created Fomoradgh — must stand together or fall before them and become their slaves once again.
Glory in battle and die for your cause. Face evil and kindle a light in the onrushing dark. Rhyme your spell words and sing songs of magic. Rely on will, faith and valor as you risk damnation, death, and terrible ends for the needs of others. Can you shift the tide?
High Valor uses a custom system based around FEAT pools. Small dice pools of Will, Faith, and Valor are drawn upon to add game results to traits you describe yourself or the many examples provided. Make your choices matter. Make these traits what you want them to represent and leap into the dangerous world of Aeia.

About Dave McAlister

Dave has been roleplaying for over 30 years, having played and/or run most mainstream systems with the espionage genre being an early favourite. So much so that, in 1999, he started Modus Operandi. That same year he joined the Sarbreenar "Living" campaign team as their plotline controller before moving across to the Living Spycraft campaign team (as UK Regional Branch Director) in 2003. 2003 also saw the birth of UK Role Players as well as Dave's first freelance writing appointment (co-writing World Militaries and consulting on both US Militaries and Battlegrounds, all for Spycraft). Since then, Dave has concentrated on supporting the UK gaming scene. He has organised and run several small, one-day, events and was the RPG Area Manager for Gen Con UK in 2004. His current favourite systems are Dungeons & Dragons (specifically 5th Edition), Savage Worlds and Cinematic Unisystem. He has a (currently neglected) blog at dave.mcalister.org.uk and runs a D&D 5e SRD website at DnD5e.info.
